DESCRIPTION:GALENA LIONS CLUB CAR SHOW 2025 (First Sunday of November) NOVEMBER 2nd: 10 AM – 2 PM {Rain Date – Sunday Nov. 9} \n(This is not a “fly-in” per se but flying guests & general public are invited to attend – Free Admission.) Car Registration: 10 AM to 12 Noon with Judging from 12 to 1:30 PM. Awards: 2 PM. Entry Fee for Show Cars: $20.00 (No Admission charge for General Public). The Galena Lions Club annual Judged Car Show is at Massey Aerodrome (no longer at Turner’s Field). Refreshments sold to benefit The Galena Lions Club. We’re looking forward to upwards of 200 show cars on view. Massey Aerodrome is family friendly and handicap accessible (on grass). THE AIRPORT WILL REMAIN OPEN AS USUAL FOR OUR FLYING VISITORS. \n——————————————————————————————— \nAWARDS: Presidents Trophy & Top Ten Plaque Awards\, Dash Plaques to first 50 Vehicles. DESCRIPTION:Massey Open Hangar Party & Fly-In on Sunday December 7\, 2025 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.  Come to our Annual Open Hangar Party\, Rain or Shine! — Fly in or Drive in. Help us celebrate our progress and new projects. Friends can bring a covered dish or dessert item (optional) and the airport supplies the main course\, cider\, lemonade & coffee. If the weather cooperates\, you will be able to watch the field fill up with over 100 fly-in guests\, expect to see interesting airplanes. There’s always plenty of food\, so renew old friendships & meet others who love aviation. Tour the Air Museum\, hangars\, DC-3 & An-2 biplane. If you have a motorcycle\, vintage car or hot rod\, come early\, park up front around the DC-3 for everyone to see & admire. General Public Invited! Children Welcome. Free Admission. FOOD IS SERVED AT NOON. Remember it’s on the FIRST SUNDAY of December! Pilots: As always\, keep an eye out for “no-radio” aircraft. Winds permitting\, Runway 02 is the preferred arrival approach on event days\, if not – we have widened the west side “Back Taxi” lane. DESCRIPTION:22nd Chili Fiesta Fly-in on Saturday May 9th\, 2026 \nFly in or Drive in\, we welcome you to share your favorite chili recipe or covered dish (optional\, not mandatory). This annual event attracts local town folk and\, if weather permits\, a large contingent of interesting flying machines. Festivities begin around 10 AM and go until 2 PM. Renew old friendships and discover what everybody’s been working on all winter. General Public Invited! No Admission or Parking charge. The Airport\, Air Museum & hangars are open. Massey is family friendly and handicap accessible (on grass). Antique and Show cars are invited for non-judged display (If you have a motorcycle\, vintage car or hot rod\, come early\, park up front around the DC-3 for everyone to see & admire).    \nPilots: As always\, keep an eye out for no-radio aircraft. DESCRIPTION:The Antique Airplane Fly-In will be held on Saturday June 20th\, 2026 from 10:00 am – 2 pm. It is conducted by the Massey Air Museum. This is the only Antique Airplane Assoc. (AAA) Judged event in our region. The General Public and aviation fans are invited to attend. Last year\, sunny skies attracted  84 antique\, classic\, biplanes\, taildraggers\, and general aviation aircraft to enjoy Grassroots Aviation. Hear the unique sound of radial engines. Tour the Massey Air Museum\, DC-3\, An-2 & hangars\, excellent photo & viewing area overlooking the runway where you can watch the planes land and take off. Free Admission. Family Friendly. Experience “Grassroots Aviation” when tail wheels were king.\nThe Millington Volunteer Fire Co. will be selling refreshments – hot dogs and hamburgers.\nPilots: As always\, keep an eye out for no-radio aircraft.
