Biplane Rides (Weekends – Weather permitting).

May 13-15, May 20-22, June 10 & 12, June 11 (limited), June 17-19, July 22-24, Jul 29-31, Aug 12-14, Sep 9-11, Sep 30, Oct 2, Oct 7-10.

Biplane Air Tours will provide airplane rides in a 1944 Stearman open-cockpit biplane. $70 for 15 minutes, $120 for 30 minutes, $210 for 60 minutes. Reservations preferred but walk-ins are welcome. See the website for more information. Phone: 410-535-4136.


May 14 (Sat): Chili Fiesta Fly-in

Fly in, Drive in, with your best chili recipe and/or hors d’oeuvre item (optional). This annual event attracts local towns folk, and if weather permits, a large contingent of interesting flying machines. Festivities begin at 12 Noon and go until 4PM. See the story here of the 2015 Chili Fly-in. ATTENTION PILOTS: Position reporting on 122.9 is recommended. Numerous NORDOs, see & avoid is the rule! We like to use Runway 02 for arrivals if winds permit, as it permits easier egress from the runway.


June 11 (Sat) {Raindate: Sun, June 12}: 45th Antique Aeroplane Fly-In

This is an AAA (Antique Airplane Association) event (formerly the Horn Point Antique Fly-In) conducted by the Potomac Antique Aero Squadron (PAAS) and hosted for the first time at Massey Aerodrome. Times: 7AM-5PM with judging until 2PM. Food & drinks available on field. Registration begins 9AM @ $15 per aircraft. Judging 9:30am-2:00pm. 4PM Awards Presentation. No admission or landing fees but donations to the Potomac Antique Aero Squadron appreciated to help continue the antique fly-in. All are welcome! June 11 (Sat) Kent County Museum Open House Tour

The Museums of Kent County is conducting an Open House tour from 10AM – 4PM. This is a self driving tour of nine open museums in Kent Co. MD, including Massey Air Museum. Others include a farming equipment museum, a one room schoolhouse, an African-American Civil War veterans’ hall, museums about Eastern Shore watermen and steamboats, and a genealogical research library. Enjoy the rural atmosphere of Kent County. More Info.


June 25 & 26: Kent County Ham Radio Field Day

2PM Saturday until 2PM Sunday. Sponsored by Kent Amateur Radio Society (KARS), Chestertown, MD. Includes a public demonstration of Emergency Communications, demonstrating Amateur Radio and their support for Kent County’s Office of Emergency Management. See Amateur Radio in action. August 13: Biplane Fly-In. 11AM-3PM

August 20: Young Eagles Weekend and EAA 1536 Picnic

EAA Chapter 1536 will provide free airplane rides to kids ages 7 to 17. 10AM to 3. Parents/guardian must be present to provide permission.Chapter 1536 Picnic will be held the same day.


October 7-10: Vintage Sailplane Association Rally

The Vintage Sailplane Association (VSA) will hold their annual East Coast Sailplane meet at Massey over the Columbus Day weekend. Gliders from the 30’s through the 60’s are invited for a four day weekend of flying and hangar stories. Glider rides and biplane rides will be available (prices vary), with a portion of the fee being donated to the museum. See VSA www.vintagesailplane.org. Dec 4 (Sun): 14th Annual Open Hangar Day & Fly-In

This is our annual Christmas Party for the community and flying friends. Friends bring hors d’oeuvres and the airport supplies the main course and hot cider. This is always a rain or shine event, drive or fly, from 12:00PM to 4:00PM. As always, keep an eye out for “no-radio” aircraft. Usually, we use Runway 02 for arrival on event days, winds permitting.
